What species of wood do you use at Borderline Lumber Service?
Western red cedar: Grown in B.C., this species is popular for exterior and interior building applications due to its rich colour and durability.
Douglas fir/larch: Douglas fir trees are renowned for their strength, and the wood gleaned from them is valuable for building heavy-duty structures.
Larch also produces a strong, hard wood that is similar to that of Douglas fir.
Both woods are used for constructing beams, timbers, windows, doors and roof trusses due to their beauty and durability.
Western white pine/Idaho pine: Pine is a soft wood, more suitable for light or medium construction jobs, but it is still used for both exterior and interior structures.
Birch/alder/maple: These local hardwoods can be shaped beautifully with power tools, and their toughness allows them to hold nails and screws securely in place. Hardwood also looks fantastic after sanding and finishing.
What other building supplies do you offer West Kootenay customers?
We are pleased to offer an array of building materials and supplies to the Christina Lake area. Pick up everything you need to spruce up your home or make your construction job go to plan.
We can help you choose between various patterns of V-joint products, flooring, bevel or channel siding and even fencing.
